2014年的高雄燈會藝術節將不在光榮碼頭設主要燈區，而是會擴大展出範圍，為高雄締造高雄燈會史上最廣的街頭燈飾展區，並預計從明年1月28日到2月23日進行，還有煙火與明星表演等活動助陣。

街頭燈飾主要區域包括：新興區五福路從復興路段到國軍英雄館旁的英雄路、擴展至光榮碼頭以及民生路與三多路間的中山路等。主要燈飾馬路，涵蓋民生路、成功路、新光路、中山路至愛河的五福路以及中央公園等。另外，三多商圈將有造景燈飾橋、而愛河兩岸則規劃為花燈區、街頭藝人表演區。

明年度的高雄燈會藝術節雖將擴大辦理街道燈飾與遊行等活動，但煙火與藝人表演等都會大大縮減，煙火施放僅用於開幕與閉幕為主。
