苗栗薑麻節將於將於本周末，11月2、3日登場，今年以胭脂馬遇到關老爺為主題，舉辦很有客家氣氛的馬車迎親客家薑麻婚禮，還可以品嚐以薑為系列的美食佳餚；另外，活動當天會招待客家麻糬、薑茶、摸彩以及趣味遊戲，內容相當豐富。

薑麻節每年都會以薑堆出明年的生肖，而明年是馬年，所以今年以主題為胭脂馬遇到關老爺，當天將限量發售99元「幸福99」福袋1000份，裡面包括生薑、餐券、住宿優待券、採果優待券等，價值保證超過899元以上。

苗縣薑麻園發展協會理事長劉添俊預告活動當天將有3對新人、1對在地鑽石婚夫妻分別乘坐馬車、客家轎，一同歡慶舉行富有在地味的客家文化薑麻婚禮。

活動兩天苗栗縣政府有規劃大湖至薑麻園的免費接駁車，時間為7:30～16:00。
